Exhibit 2 - A Quilt Design
DesignBackground: The idea for this project and design was influenced by my sister who really likes Celtic designs.
Contrast: Color was used to help to make the Celtic designs stand out. A different texture layer was used for the blue. Alignment: All pieces of this project are aligned from the center. Repetition: I used the same design in the corners and rectangles in the background to help with the Proximity: Distance between the design in the Celtic designs helps to show that they are separate parts of the design. Color Schemes: An analogous color scheme was used. |
Photoshop
I began by googling Celtic knots and Celtic knots corner. With the images that I found I opened photoshop and outlined the design and created a new brushes for each design. After this I created a new file in Photoshop, 1080 px by 1100 px. I changed the background layer from white to a dark green. Then I added a rectangle layers starting with the black layer then the blue layer. After that I created a new layer and placed the Celtic knot in the center of the design using the one of the new brushes I created. I began another layer to add the designs in the corners. I then when through each layer, except the background, adding a texture filter layer to help it look more like fabric. The Texturize filter was used for all the layers, except the blue layer which used Craquelure filter.
